Examine the Problem
Key Questions & Considerations:

Describe the behavior, and its contexts

Is the behavior one that is typically associated with language acquisition?

Are others observing the same behaviors (i.e.,other school contexts, bus, home, community, church/mosque, etc.)?

When navigating all of the possible causes of the behavior, sometimes it is best to begin with the assumption that the behaviors are due to factors associated with language learning and/or cultural factors
Actions:

Consult with your EL teacher and other teachers/administrators in the school

Talk with bus driver
-
Arrange for an interpreter (if necessary) to get parents’ input
